There’s a little rocky cove (una cala) near the house where I’ve always loved to go to be all by myself … in all weather, in all states of mind. Now that I’m older and busier (more thoughts on “busy-ness” tomorrow), I don’t get there as often as I ought to — but last Saturday I had an awful case of cabin fever, so I tromped down and spent some time communing with the rocks and the water.

And taking pictures, which is one of the best ways for me to be in the present moment. My approach is to slow down, pay attention to what’s around me, and let the images find me. Here are the best two, both taken with iPhone and Hipstamatic (Ina’s 1969 film, Jimmy lens).
